Tummy time is an important part of your baby's development. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends starting tummy time as soon as your baby is able to lift their head, which is typically around 2-3 weeks of age. However, it's important to start slowly and gradually increase the amount of time your baby spends on their stomach. This can help to prevent discomfort and build the strength and muscles in your baby's neck and back. It's also a good idea to provide plenty of support for your baby during tummy time and to make sure they are supervised at all times.

When should start

Tummy time is an important part of a baby's physical development and should be started as soon as possible after birth,  typically within the first few days. It is recommended to start with short sessions (2-3 minutes) a few times a day and gradually increase the duration as the baby becomes more comfortable and strong. Tummy time helps to strengthen the muscles in the neck, shoulders, and back and can also help prevent flat spots on the back of the head.

It is important for baby to have regular tummy time throughout their development to help strengthen their neck and shoulder muscles, improve their gross motor skills, and prevent flat spots on their head.
